Documents Required for the Active Duty Military Application
These are required documents for this property. Please review the list as you are preparing to submit your application.
STEP 1: Gather the Documents Needed for Your Application
- All applicants must provide proof of Move Date with one of the following:
- Orders
- Letter in Lieu of Orders / Memo
- RIP
- Letter in Lieu of Orders must be on a military letterhead, be completed by a member of your Chain of Command, and include your Report No Later Than Date and Duty Postal Code.
- *Note: You can complete an application with a RIP or Memo, but you will not be able to move in without official PCS orders.
- All applicants must present a Full Leave Earning Statement (LES) to confirm current rank and BAH status.
- If all dependents (spouse/kids) are not listed on orders, you must provide the following documents:
- Marriage certificate or DD1172
- Birth certificates for every person under 18
- *If all dependents are listed on your orders, no additional documents are needed.
- If you have pets, you must provide all of the following:
- Shot records for each pet
- Photo of each pet
STEP 2: Complete the HMC Application
After gathering the required documents, complete the HMC application by clicking apply now.
In the application, you will need to download and sign the following forms, which are linked in the application:
- Waitlist Acknowledgement Form
- Pet Breed Restriction Form: This must be signed by all applicants, even if you do not have pets.
THE APPLICATION PORTAL MAY NOT BE SUPPORTED ON GOVERNMENT COMPUTERS OR MOBILE DEVICES. A NON-GOVERNMENT DESKTOP COMPUTER IS RECOMMENDED FOR A SMOOTHER EXPERIENCE.
STEP 3: Complete Your MHO Referral

After Hunt approval, you will be placed on a waitlist, and your application will be shared with the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling Military Housing Office (JBAB MHO) to begin the military housing referral process.
They will contact you for additional information in order to complete your referral. You may also reach them at (202) 284-3506 or 11CES.MilitaryHousing.Office@us.af.mil.
You will need to sign and return the following forms, which will be sent to you by the MHO:
- Addendum for Privately Owned Firearms Procedures
- AF Form 4422: Sex Offender Disclosure and Acknowledgment Form
- Housing Statement of Understanding
- JBAB Child Supervision Policy
- JBAB Pet Policy
- JBAB MHO Pre-Move In Checklist
STEP 4: Move-in Requirements
A completed referral from the Military Housing Office is required prior to moving into a home.
At move-in, you'll need a state-issued ID for every person in the household who is 18 or older.
Documents Required for the All Other Applicants
These are required documents for this property. Please review the list as you are preparing to submit your application.
STEP 1: Gather the Documents Needed for Your Application
- All applicants must show proof of income through a pay stub showing three full months of income equal to at least 3x the market rent (not reduced or promotional rent). If applicable, the monthly rent qualifier for a guarantor is 5x the market rent. Please note that an income qualifier is based on gross monthly income (excluding commissions, tips, or child support).
- If you are military affiliated, proof of Military/DoD affiliation is required.
- If you have pets, you must provide all of the following:
- Shot records of each pet
- Photo of each pet
STEP 2: Complete the HMC Application
After gathering the required documents, complete the HMC application by clicking apply now.
- Download, review, and sign the screening authorization for credit and criminal screening. It must be signed by all parties over the age of 18 and submitted in your application.
- Download and review the application rental criteria. Enter your name and email address in the designated fields to access the application portal. You will need to upload this document in your application.
Within the application portal, you will need to complete the following:
- Download, review, sign, and upload the Waitlist Acknowledgement Form
- Download, review, sign, and upload the Pet Breed Restriction Form: This must be signed by all applicants, even if you do not have pets.
Note: You must pay the application fee via www.RentPayment.com to complete your application.
Any individual over the age of 18 who will be residing in the home must submit an application and note on the application with whom they will be residing.
